The decision on the merit of the Gyanvapi-Shringar Gauri case is expected in the court of District Judge Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishwesh on Monday. The judgment will decide whether the suit filed in the court is maintainable or not.Meanwhile, the Hindu side has said that if the decision comes in its favor, then the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) will demand for survey and carbon dating of Shivling.
After completion of arguments of both the sides on the last hearing, the court fixed September 12 for hearing. The police are on high alert in view of the decision on the merit of the Gyanvapi-Shringar Gauri case.Talking to ANI, Hindu side’s lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain said that in today’s verdict it will be known whether spiritual and historical books will be shown or not? That is why today is important because if the court accepts our argument and rejects the application of the Masjid Committee, then its effect will be that this case will go ahead.
He said that the Worship Act of 1991 is in our favor because we say that on August 15, 1947, the religious nature of this place was that of a Hindu temple and I feel that if this application is rejected in the coming time, then the religious nature will be decided. Efforts to do so will go further. He said that if the verdict comes in our favour, then we will demand ASI survey and carbon dating of Shivling.
Another advocate for the Hindu side, Sohan Lal Arya, said that the verdict would prove to be the first day of laying the foundation of Kashi Vishwanath. However, this day is going to prove to be a very happy day for Hindus all over the world, he added. The court will give its verdict at 2 o’clock. We prayed for the darshan of Lord Shiva this morning. We will have darshan after the verdict is pronounced. The people of Varanasi will express their happiness by ringing bells and clapping the verdict in favor. He said that Kashi will work to awaken the Hindu public.
In view of the possibility of the verdict, Section 144 is in force in Varanasi from Sunday and the security arrangements have been tightened.Special forces have been deployed in areas with mixed populations.Law and order is being ensured through continuous patrolling.
